There's no better way to make a difference in your life than to increase the amount of self-knowledge you have. Why? Because what's within us determines what we do with our lives.

If you can see what's within, you'll be able to change it, thereby changing your actions, your life, and the way you relate to others.

Not only that, but the more you explore, the more you learn and you get to find what causes you to feel happy, sad or spiritual.

By understanding the causes and how they work, you can change them and that means you can determine how you feel inside.

If we can't see what's inside us, we can't really understand it, and if we can't understand it, we can't fundamentally change it.

If we look inside we can see our inner world of thoughts, feelings and emotions, and by seeing them we get to understand them.

To give an example, if you want to understand what anger feels like and you only relied upon someone else's view of it, wouldn't you miss seeing it working in yourself? It's like asking someone else what an apple tastes like. You know what an apple tastes like by tasting it.

By studying inside you get to see all the subtle and obvious manifestations of anger or any emotion, how it works, what it makes you think, feel and do, then you understand how it works within you. And that's the most powerful way to change.

Looking inside we also become aware that we are more than these fleeting thoughts and emotions, and if we are quiet we can actually be free of them for a short time. And that which is free is that which is aware, which we call consciousness, it's the part that sees and the part that really understands.

It's this consciousness that is the basis for our spiritual development, by studying within we unlock its secrets and embark on an incredible journey of transformation.

If we really want to make this journey it's not enough just to read what others say, ultimately we all stand on our own personal experience of life.

By studying within we can unlock the secrets of the psyche and unravel the mysteries of wisdom, peace and love.
