Reincarnation

The word "reincarnation" derives from Latin, literally meaning, "entering the flesh again". The Greek equivalent metempsychosis (μετεμψύχωσις) derives from meta (change) and empsykhoun (to put a soul into), a term attributed to Pythagoras. An alternate term is transmigration implying migration from one life (body) to another. Reincarnation refers to the belief that an aspect of every human being (or all living beings in some cultures) continues to exist after death, this aspect may be the soul or mind or consciousness or something transcendent which is reborn in an interconnected cycle of existence; the transmigration belief varies by culture, and is envisioned to be in the form of a newly born human being, or animal, or plant, or spirit, or as a being in some other non-human realm of existence. The term has been used by modern philosophers such as Kurt GŲdel and has entered the English language. Another Greek term sometimes used synonymously is palingenesis, "being born again".

ďThe HighwaymanĒ by Willy Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash

Lyrics:
I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
But I am still alive.

I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide
And with the sea I did abide.
I sailed a schooner round the Horn of Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still.

I was a dam builder. Across the river deep and wide.
Where steel and water did collide
A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado
I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below
They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound
But I am still around..Iíll always be around..and around and around and
around and around

I fly a starship across the Universe divide
And when I reach the other side
Iíll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain
But I will remain
And Iíll be back again, and again and again and again and againÖ.

Ö.Why most of us have no specific memories of earlier lives, just vague feelings or natural abilities

Why most of us have NO SPECIFIC MEMORIES OF PREVIOUS LIVES, just 1) vague feelings, 2) strong likes, dislikes, fears and phobias, and 3) instant, inborn abilities and talents:

Because we would tend as humans to endlessly relive each failure, not only in this life, but in earlier ones as well, like a man who cannot even fall asleep, even if dead-tired, while berating himself for his shortcomings! Forgetting earlier lives is part of Godís mercy. The time when a life is reviewed is when you die and ANGELS show you a video of your life, all the good you did ó and all the bad as well ó and then watch you react to it, and judge where you stand spiritually: ready to learn and grow or still stuck in denial and the blame-everyone-else game.

After the mandatory viewing of the honest life-review video, YOU MUST MOVE FORWARD. Rehashing the past over and over and over in denial is not productive!

Hauntingly beautiful song by the female vocalist Sissel of Norway, land of my distant ancestors

Going Home

unable-to-sleep-self-accusations-reincarnation.jpgGoing Home
Going home, going home
I'm jus' going home
Quiet like, some still day
I'm jus' going home

It's not far, yes close by
Through an open door
Work all done, care laid by
Going to fear no more

Mother's there, 'specting me
Father's waiting, too
Lots of folk gathered there
All the friends I knew

All the friends I knew

I'm going home

Nothing lost, all's gain
No more fret nor pain
No more stumbling on the way
No more longing for the day
Going to roam no more

Morning star lights the way
Restless dream all done
Shadows gone, break of day
Real life yes begun

There's no break, aint no end
Jus' a livin' on
Wide awake with a smile
Going on and on

Going home, going home
I'm jus' going home
It's not far, yes close by
Through an open door
I'm jus' going home

Going home, going home

IíM READY TO GO HOME

On the street below these walls
Where I used to walk
Now I can barely crawl
All this darkness rising tall
Lord shine a light for me
Iím waiting to be called

Iím ready to go home
Iím ready to receive
Forgiveness for my sins
Iím ready to begin

Take this river to the sea
Where the Delta flows
The tide is washing over me
Guide this soul to Heavenís door
Show me where tomorrow lies
Iím waiting to be born

Iím ready to lay down
Iím ready now to sleep
A promise I must keep
Iím ready to go home

So tired I lay down
With these memories
Breathe shallow deep inside of me
If time has run its course with me
Then

Iím ready to go home
Iím ready to receive
Forgiveness for my sins
Iím ready to begin

When the evening shadows fall
When the time has come
Iíll let defences fall
To surrenderís to survive
I will give up everything
To those I leave behind

Iím ready to go home
Iím ready to receive
Forgiveness for my sins
Iím ready to begin

Iím ready to lay down
Iím ready now to sleep
A promise I must keep
Iím ready to go home
Again

We are all going home, just getting there at different times.

We are eternal spiritual beings, deliberately taking challenging human journeys.
